You know what it is like. You get all excited to go out for a night on the town, you get all of your friends together, pick out the perfect outfit and then you spend HOURS on your makeup just to have it all melted off by the time you get in the club. I have said it before and I will say it again, I am a snob when it comes to the things I put on my face. So to spend all that money on makeup and have it melt off before the night gets started can be really frustrating! But, I have found the cure in the name of Urban Decay’s All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray.
This stuff is LIFE SAVING! You mist it on over your makeup and it helps keep everything in place for 16 hours. The All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray works because it uses Temperature Control Technology. The Urban Decay website states, “this baby actually lowers the temperature of your makeup to keep foundation, eyeshadow, blush and concealer in place – even in hot and humid or cold and windy conditions. The result? Smoother-looking skin and vibrant makeup that lasts all day (or all night).”
It is literally magic. The numbers are in 78% of users said All Nighter lasted the full 16 hours, 80% said it helped their makeup look better and stay on better without fading into the lines of their face, and 88% said that it was the best product they have ever tried to help keep their makeup in place.
It does all of this for $30.00 which, for me is a little pricey but the awesome thing is if you go to Ulta they usually have sample sizes for $14.00. That is the one I use.
I used this product on Halloween and it helped my makeup stay fierce all night, I just bought my own today so I am VERY excited to try it.
We all want a fast fixes especially when it comes to our looks. People are always attaching themselves to the latest diet trends in order to drop a quick 10 pounds, but what if I told you there were ways you could look good fast without compromising your eating habits? Where there is a will there is a way and by following these simple rules from StyleCaster you will be on your way to looking fine in no time.
The number one thing I will always recommend to people is to invest in Spanx (or any shapewear product) They instantly make you look five pounds slimmer. They smooth you out and hold you in all while lifting you up. Like a good friend should. I wore some on New Years Eve and thank God I did because I would never have been able to pull off the tight fitting dress I wore without them
Another tip for looking slimmer is to wear one solid dark color all over. Black is always a go to because, as they say, black is slimming, but if you do not want to constantly look like you are about to attend a funeral you could opt for dark blues and reds as well. Black is just très chic.
Another reliable way to look slimmer is to wear vertical stripes, not to be confused with the less pleasing horizontal stripes. Vertical stripes have a way of elongating the body. Check out these pants from Forever21
A not so known yet still reliable tip would be to hide your insecure spots with dark colors but accentuate the areas you are more confident with, with bright colors. Not a fan of your stomach? That’s okay sport a black top, but love your legs? Why not blast them with a bright blue jean! Fashion is all about highlighting what we like about ourselves.
I think it is pretty obvious by now that I am obsessed with the 90s and it is not because I was born in ’92. Wellllll not JUST because I was born in ’92. The 90s were a very chill, effortless era that prided itself in baggy clothes and lots of unnecessary layers, but there is something chic and youthful about the 90s and it has returned for your viewing pleasure. Now that is what I call a rewind!
Of course we cannot bring back the exact same looks from the 90s, we have to revamp them somehow. InStyle Magazine laid down a few of these comeback rules on their website. Some of these 90s beauty trends to watch out for include:
- Berry lips
- Sexy tousled hair
- Accent braids
- Big blown out hair
I would also say that thick eye brows are back (thank you Brooke Shields, the queen of bushy brows, and thank you Cara Delevingne, the princess of post plucking.)
But beauty trends are not the only things that are rising from the time capsule. Chokers are everywhere now and I cannot wait to get my hands on some. Crop tops are back and they are not going anywhere (time to work on those abs) and skater dresses are blowing their way through Fashion Week. And flannel? If it is not in your closet in 30 assorted colors then I do not know what you are doing with your life. Forever21 is the hub for 90s fashion so if you are in need of some inspo just float through their website (the store gives me anxiety.)
I guess I am just an aspiring grunge college student. Time to sign up for my woman’s studies class! Whatever style trend you plan on latching on to just remember one thing, leave the over-sized Jnco jeans where they belong…. the trash.
I always see these Lazy Girl hairstyle hacks or simple hairstyles for lazy girls. But I always wonder if they work or not. I mean I am pretty lazy and these hairstyles are cute but are they really as simple as they appear? For example I feel like I would really mess this up this wrapped elastic headband look. It seems simple enough, slide a headband on over your bangs, wrap the rest of your hair underneath the headband, but I feel like my hair would just fall out from under it.
This sleek, professional look does not even seem simple. I do not know why it is considered a “Lazy Girl” hair style.
Here are the directions:
- Tease the crown of your hair and spray with some hairspray.
- Grab your hair and put it into a super high pony, then secure it with an elastic tie. Just make sure the elastic tie is not super close to your head because you will need some space for the next part.
- Using that space from the elastic tie, separate the pony into two with your fingers.
- Using this space, pull about three inches of hair through the pony.
- Now pull the base of the pony until the elastic tie is tight.
- Secure the loose pieces with bobby pins
- Spray with hair spray to secure the look.
Seven steps does not seem simple to me. Simple to me is pulling your hair back into a pony tail, no bobby pins needed. Maybe pinning my bangs when I’m in between trims.
Maybe I am just so bad at doing hair that even simple looks intimidate me, but if you are a little more creative here are some more Lazy Hair Hacks from BuzzFeed.
Maybe with practice I can do these too! Happy hair styling!
Spring is coming faster than we think. It may be hard to see it because it is still freezing out, but it will be here soon. That being said we have to prepare not only our minds, but our closets! I have been searching all over the internet to find out what is on trend for Spring 2015!
The first thing I noticed while scouring the internet is that gingham is making a come back. Yes, gingham as in your mothers picnic table cloth. I know right? I am not too crazy about it but I am not a style expert, I just research the stuff! Whether you are doing it in large, loud prints or small, intricate prints it’s coming back. Here is an example of how to do gingham print from Forever21. It can be yours for $22.80
Another trend I came across was yellow. Yup, just yellow the color. A lot of people are afraid of the color yellow and rightly so it can be a hard shade to pull off, but it does not have to be. You have to find the right shade to compliment your skin tone. You can look here to help figure out what your skin tone is, and go from there. Here is an example of how to wear yellow this season from ModCloth for $74.99
Another trend to watch out for is black and white. It’s obviously a classic so I do not think it ever left but it helps put the “no white after labor day” rule to sleep. Wear white, wear it with black! The contrast in the colors are always eye catching. What makes this a new trend is not the colors themselves but the fabrics you choose to represent them. Here is an example of how to wear this black and white trend for spring. Try a boxy white crop top with some black pants! Forever21 for $6.90
